Not allowed to use nail polish at school?

I need a quick nail polish remover recipe from normal things around the house. My mom won't let me use hers...

Nail polish is little more than a type of acrylic paint. What you can do to soften it is soak your hands in hot water (not too hot, but I'd say around the same temperature you'd use in a hot shower.) After that, you should be able to chip it off easily. If not, you can take an emory board and very gently rub it off the nail.

Mine will usually come off that way, and you should be able to chip it right off by simply taking your nail and pulling it up a bit, like you're removing paint chips (which you are, really.)Not allowed to use nail polish at school?

That's because the components that make up the nail polish has not been fully removed. It's more visible when you remove a dark nail polish but it will go away in a day or two. Next time, just soak a ball of cotton in removers and press it to the nail for 30 seconds. lemon juice lots of lemon juice it gets rid of the nail polish but wont harm your leather

ok follow this steps:

Step1

Dab off, don't rub, most of the nail polish using a paper towel. Then test the leather for colorfastness. This will help you determine if the leather can withstand the chemicals needed to clean it. Take some acetone and dab an area of the leather that cannot be seen or is inconspicuous. Acetone is a non-oily fingernail polish remover. Wait a few minutes to make sure the leather does not change color.

Step2

If the leather can withstand the acetone, dab the affected area with small amounts of the acetone using a paper towel. Keep dabbing until no more nail polish is coming up on your paper towel. If the acetone damages the leather you can try using rubbing alcohol. Be sure to test the alcohol first before using. Use the same method of dabbing.

Step3

If neither one of these methods work on your leather, contact a leather professional. They have access to more chemicals and should be able to remove the stain.

Vodka - but dab don't rub. If you rub it the grain of the leather will break down and you might even make a hole in it.

Just keep dabbing with paper towels until it all comes away.

The alcohol in the vodka works as a sort of nail polish remover but it is not so strong that it will ruin the leather

Also works for biro

If all else fails buy some pillows or a throw

you could TRY .. a dab of Nail Polish Remover .. put it on a Q-tip , an Very carefully work at it .. I dunno what nail polish remover you are using, but the one i use(Professional nail polish remover by studio tools, found at target) removes clear nail polish.

The best thing about being a teen is that there are no nail polish rules. Have fun with it! You could do a french manicure with two bright shades. Just paint nails and then when they are completely dry use another color instead of white to do the tips. It helps if you have the tape things to guide you.

I think the best thing is a french manicure. But if you don't want to have a french manicure all summer here is what I do:

I paint my nails with french manicure polish. Then I take a thin acrylic overlay to protect it. Then if you choose to wear a different color that matches your outfit all you have to do is apply two coats over the french manicure to change the color.

Then if you want to go back to the french manicure all you have to do is use NON-ACETONE nail polish to take of the polish and then you will have your french manicure back.

This is so convenient because french manicure goes with anything and if you don't have time to polish your nails you can still have a great look for summer.

All of my nail clients love this! Give it a try!

I wouldn't try it...You might damage the weave as the chemicals in the nail polish might cause a negative reaction to the weave.

Go to a ';Sally's'; or other Hair product store and look for Hair wands that come in many colors and are strictly made to temporarily color your hair.Can i put nail polish on the tips of my weave to color it?

no you cannot do that it will hurt when you remove it and nail polish remover with remove you hair color and so if you want to ruin you hair go 4 it and if not just go get highlights but at the bottom!!!

I definitely say pastels or nudes. Anything that helps you look like you are fully aware spring is on it's way! Also, a french manicure is always classic and pretty. Good luck!

p.s. Sally Hansen nail pens are great. There is a french manicure one, a nail art pen (very thin, great for drawing flowers or designs), and the actualy polish pen. Black has always been close, or on the top of all Nail Polishes because it matches with everything and if you wear a thin shade of it, it won't look bad at all.

But if Black is too much for you, light pink has always been up there,too! (:

Nail polish is acetone. It'll sting like heck, but no damage will be done. If it's still bleeding squeeze out some blood and the polish. Clean it with soap and water and cover it.

lemon juice! And make sure you use a really good hand and nail moistoriser after as the lemon juice strip the oil from the nails, which might weaken and make them brittle. Next time use a base-coat of clear under your crazy polish!
use an invisible polish under your green polish and to the cover use an invisible too. thats the best tips, because it wouldnt leave a green tint. =)

I don't know if it will wok for nail polish but I have used lemon juice on my toe nails to get rid of severe staining before. Working fantastically.
Acetone works pretty well but if that doesn't help you, maybe you should try buffing them with a very low grit buffer block.
try buffing them with a nail buffer it worked for my toe nails then i painted nail whitening nail varnish

I'm thinking go ahead and try it. There's no shortage of snails, LOL. The only problem I'd see would be if the solvent or polish leached through the shell and poisoned the animal.

Ballerina pink is always adorable and goes with everything. Also, corals and pinks are very big this summer. Try to stay away from anything too bright or catchy as it will distract from your outfit. A sparkly, sheer, tangerine orange would be great. Bottom line, it doesn't really matter what color, as long as it is sheer and sparkly and goes with your skintone.

I am a fan of Second Honeymoon by OPI. It is a light pink that looks very natural, but still is special. It will go with almost anything. If you are looking for some extra sparkle try putting Princesses Rule! (I think that is what it is called - it is a shimmery pink) on top.

It seems everyone has given you good answers on the nail polish ....I use to wear acrylic nails all the time. They really damaged my nails. I bought a product called nail envy and it worked really good for a while then it seem to loose its effect. I came across the wonderful nail hardener that I order from a lady in Florida ...I just email her what I want and then I mail her a check and she sends me the polish . I have wonderful nails because of this product. I am going to try and post a picture of them in this link for you . and if you want her email or any information on the product just email me and I will be happy to give it to you.....

Always put a clear coat on over your color coat. That give it an added layer of protection to protect against chipping.

Also, drinking milk is very good for your nails, because of the calcium it contains. There are products you can buy too, but these are not good in the long term, because you'd rather your body produce strong nails on its own rather than depend on a product for strength.

Use a base coat, two coats of colored polish and a top coat.

May want to try Sally Hansen Hard as Nails which can be found at Walgreens or Target.

May try adding a clear coat of polish every other day.
Go to sallys. They make calcium nail polish to help make your nails stronger with out having to drink a lot of milk or whatever. Also if you do go to sallys they sell some top coat polish that works wonders.
fist u put on a clear coat. let it dry, then let it dry. next put on the coulor, then lwt it dry, next put on another clear coat. that sould work.
Use a clear top coat to make it stay on longer and make it shiney. But make sure you apply it after the original nail polish is completely dry.

Agree with above...pick a good quality polish for base and color. had the same prob til I started using OPI. It stays on forever and stays glossy!

Why is OPI nail polish so expensive?

I just went and bought OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight (luv it by the way!) at my hairdressers and it came out to be $9.03!!! I kno that this is like really good nail polish with good colors annd quality...but why is it so much money? I've always used this brand but never remembered it being so pricey!Why is OPI nail polish so expensive?
They need to make their profit. I haven't really notice the price when I buy them but I know is much cheaper then 9 bucks. I usually get the Nicole by OPI and much affordable. Have you tried them they have some awesome colors too!

i know! i buy discontinued colors sometimes for like $5 but they have really good nail polish. At least it's less expensive than chanel :)
