My mom cleaned my macbook with nail polish remover but after 2 days my webcam lens was eaten up. What do i do?

the only 2 steps you should concentrate on ;

1st try to contact apple support and ask for solution if they charge you big enough to solve this problem then ditch it, there are 2 other cheap solution.

1. Get the notebooks body changed .

If it adjusts with your pocket if not then here is the cheapest solution.

2. find a Place where they buff CD's ( buffing of cds) ( google search it you will see what i am talking about) and get the web cam buffed it will smoothen the lens cover and will be fixed as new.

In case you cannot get a place where they buff Cds go to somehard ware carpenter guy where they do wood work , a jewellery store or a place where they make window , door or floor works these people have the same buffing and polishing device just as them to be a bit carefull and buff the camera port for like 3-8 seconds and really smooth.

This is the solution The only solution i have tried it my webcam and appliances even cellphones a lot of time and it works great.

the notebook wont be opened or void its just like polishing the camera protective sheet and lense .My mom cleaned my macbook with nail polish remover but after 2 days my webcam lens was eaten up. What do i do?
Get a new webcam, wipe everything the polish remover touched down with a damp (not soaking, just lightly damp) towel (turn everything off first; power strips as well), and let them dry.

Always clean computer accessories, the monitor, and the outside of the case (but not the inside of the actual computer) like this. For parts INSIDE the computer, compressed air cleaners are the best.

And for crying out loud, NEVER let your mother near a computer again. My mom cleaned my macbook with nail polish remover but after 2 days my webcam lens was eaten up. What do i do?
Tell your mom she is an idiot.... The nail polish remover is a harsh chemical. YOU NEVER use that on electronics. She is an idiot. Sorry. There is nothing you can do and I am pretty sure warranties do not cover that.
first of all, she shouldn't have used nail polish remover on a computer, obviously..

but if the lens is eaten up, you need a new webcam. You can't fix it. If your book is still in warranty, call 1-800-SOS-APPLE
Your mum did it? Or you did it? *ahem*

I don't think the warranty will cover that so you will more than likely have to get a new one or a replacement webcam.
contact apple ans see if you can get a new one... or you can get an external one for pretty cheap... but the other one is toast... the chemicals ate the lens and it cant be saved.
dude that is one of the FIRST things that apple tells you not do to!

you're screwed, they're gonna charge you to fix that.
Get a new one--The warranty won't cover that

Probably mentions not using solvents in all the documentation that came with it (That most peeps don't read)
This year get your mum something better than nail polish for Christmas :)
Eek...Nail polish remover is a big no no,I had to learn that the hard way.
hide your mom's nail polish remover
Get a warranty replacement.
why would she clean it with nail polish remover?
Make her buy you a new one.
apply for a law suit in a civil rights court, press for damages and compensation against your sweet mom, dont oppose a long term jail sentence, 5 year minimum
